{"id":400856,"date":"2010-03-07T18:22:18","date_gmt":"2010-03-07T23:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=95618"},"modified":"2010-03-07T18:22:18","modified_gmt":"2010-03-07T23:22:18","slug":"abc-cablevision-dispute-leaves-new-yorkers-without-access-to-oscars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/400856","title":{"rendered":"ABC Cablevision Dispute Leaves New Yorkers Without Access To Oscars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Cablevision-vs.-ABC.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Cablevision vs. ABC\" width=\"410\" height=\"132\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-95619\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More than three million movie buffs in the Big Apple will have to venture to the Interwebs if they want to know who the Oscar goes to.<\/p>\n<p>The Walt Disney Company pulled the ABC network from Cablevision Sunday morning after failing to reach a deal in negotiations over new fees, a move that could leave the cable provider&#8217;s 3.1 million customers in the New York area without access to tonight&#8217;s Academy Awards telecast, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvguide.com\/News\/ABC-Goes-Dark-1015731.aspx?rss=breakingnews&#038;partnerid=imdb&#038;profileid=01\">TV Guide<\/a><\/em> has learned.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-95618\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The cable provider cut the subscription to ABC for it&#8217;s customers after Cablevision bosses and the network could not reach a deal on a new contract.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Cablevision has once again betrayed its subscribers by losing ABC7, the most popular station in the tri-state area. This follows two years of negotiations, during which we worked diligently, up to the final moments, to reach an agreement.
