The company already owns a 49.5\u00a0 percent stake in Clipper, which it acquired for \u00a3166 million ($270 million \/ \u20ac183 million).<\/p>\n<p>AIM-listed Clipper, Reuters reports, is expected to post a loss for the second half of this year because of order deferrals and the delayed commissioning of turbines.<\/p>\n<p>Last month the company<a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/..\/2010\/02\/california-co-annonces-uk-offshore-wind-blade-plant\/\"> announced that it would build a factory<\/a>, near the town\u00a0Tyne,\u00a0in the north of England, that initially will supply blades to the 10 megawatts Britannia offshore wind project.\u00a0 At full capacity production at\u00a0the plant is expected to average 1 gigawatt a year.<\/p>\n<p>Image: iStockphoto<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/GreenEnergyReporter\/~4\/LhetsEYOkRw\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wind turbine maker Clipper Windpower has hired Mauricio Quintana, 42, a director at United Technologies (UTC), as chief executive officer and president, effective immediately &#8212; see here for the full press release.
