Sorry, Dane Cook: John Krasinski, best known as straightlaced Jim on NBC’s The Office<\/em>, is thisclose <\/em>to nabbing the biggest role of his young career: Captain America.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Insiders at Marvel Entertainment tell FOX News’ 411 Column<\/a> that Krasinski is on the verge of nabbing a role in The First Avenger: Captain America<\/em>, scheduled to be released by Paramount on July 22, 2011.<\/p>\n “John has read 4 times and is doing screen tests,”<\/em> says the Marvel spy. “He has screen tested 2 times so far. It’s very likely that he will be the new Captain America. He is a favorite among the key decision makers and has been asked to come back for more this week.”<\/em><\/p>\n At this point, Krasinski is the main focus at Marvel. The insider said the pay would “not be outrageous” for the original story film, but note that a box office blockbuster could result in multiple sequels.<\/p>\n “The big bosses are having him read with multiple actresses up for the female leads.
