Stickybits, a new iPhone and\u00a0Android<\/a> app that lets you scan any barcode and attach a geo-tagged message to that physical\u00a0object<\/a>, has been launched by Stickybits.<\/p>\n

The barcode in a greeting card, for\u00a0instance<\/a>, could trigger a video message from the sender. One on a box of medical supplies could\u00a0inventor<\/a>y what is inside. A business card with a\u00a0code<\/a> on it could link to a resume or LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n

The app lets you follow people and see their\u00a0object<\/a> stream, or get notified whenever one of your objects is scanned, moved, or new bits are attached to them.<\/p>\n

Stickybits is similar to\u00a0science<\/a>-fiction author Bruce Sterling’s\u00a0concept<\/a> of “Spimes.”
