Earlier today, president of General Motors North America, Mark Reuss held a live Webchat to talk about the state of GM North America.<\/p>\n

Besides a bunch of industry question Reuss was asked whether or not there will be a Chevrolet Cruze coupe in the future. He responded:<\/p>\n

2 door cruze is a nice idea, and it may show up in the global market. As we have 2 door Cobalts currently, NA would naturally look at a Cruze 2 door, but I believe our small car portfolio will be WAY beyond what it is now, so a 2 door something still is needed.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Refresher<\/strong>: The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze\u2019s base LS model is powered by a 136-hp 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, while the LT and LTZ model get a 1.4L turbo Ecotec engine\u00a0with 138-hp and a maximum torque of 148 lb-ft. All 2011 Cruze models will be available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4L turbo modes are expected to have a cruising range of more than 500 miles and are expected to get an EPA fuel-economy rating of 40 mpg on the highway.<\/p>\n
