{"id":415409,"date":"2010-03-11T07:16:47","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T12:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=96125"},"modified":"2010-03-11T07:16:47","modified_gmt":"2010-03-11T12:16:47","slug":"girlicious-singer-natalie-mejia-arrested-for-cocaine-possession","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/415409","title":{"rendered":"Girlicious Singer Natalie Mejia Arrested For Cocaine Possession"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Natalie Mejia, a member of The Pussycat Dolls sister band Girlicious, was taken into police custody in suburban Los Angeles this week after cops found cocaine in her designer handbag, <em>The Los Angeles Times<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Girilicious-Singer-Natalie-Mejia-Arrested.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Girilicious Singer Natalie Mejia Arrested\" width=\"490\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-96126\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mejia &#8212;  a passenger in a car driven by 28-year-old Peter Asencio &#8212; was on her way to the airport to fly to Canada for a concert when the car was pulled over for speeding Tuesday evening near the Ventura Freeway.<br \/>\nCops discovered the pal Natalie was traveling with had a suspended driving license and decided to search the pair. That&#8217;s when officers discovered several baggies of coke in Natalie&#8217;s Coach bag.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-96125\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz says 21-year-old Mejia and her companion were collared for suspicion of cocaine for sale or distribution&#8221; <em>&#8220;She doesn&#8217;t know how it (cocaine) got into her purse.&#8221;<\/em> The singer posted $30,000 bail on Wednesday and was ordered to appear in court on April 15.<\/p>\n<p>Mejia shot to fame when she competed on The CW reality series <em>Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious<\/em> in 2007.
