Former ’80s teen idol Corey Haim was approached by VH1\u2019s Celebrity Rehab<\/em> and Celebrity Fit Club<\/em> during the last few weeks of his life.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The 38-year-old Lost Boys<\/em> star died at a Burbank, California hospital on Wednesday morning after his cancer-stricken mother found the actor unresponsive in their Los Angeles apartment.<\/p>\n While Haim scoffed at the chance to compete on a season of Celebrity Fit Club<\/em>, TV addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky has opened up about his attempts to persuade the former A&E reality star to get help for his drug problems, which spanned nearly two decades.<\/p>\n Dr. Drew tells In Touch Magazine: “Our producers reached out recently to him but he was angry. People have been reaching out to me about him for years. His name has come up on every season of Celebrity Rehab. Even people on Twitter were contacting me asking me to do something for poor Corey Haim. Well I would have been happy to.”<\/em><\/p>\n According to Corey\u2019s agent, Mark Heaslip, the star did have reality plans \u2014 he had signed on for a new show about a life coach that would bring his career back.
