It seems that <A HREF=\"http:\/\/translate.googleusercontent.com\/translate_c?hl=en&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;sl=ru&#038;tl=en&#038;u=http:\/\/www.pravda.ru\/science\/technolgies\/internet\/11-11-2009\/329850-manuals-0&#038;rurl=translate.google.com&#038;usg=ALkJrhj7ixG774SSU01HJz5aZ90SI-fa9w\">women are far more likely to read a gadget&#8217;s instruction manual than men<\/A>. It&#8217;s the old, \u201cmen never ask for directions\u201d bit, yes.<\/p>\n<p>Research shows that men are usually more confident in their ability to fix things, so why bother reading an instruction manual? Women, more likely to look for help, have no problem consulting an instruction manual.<\/p>\n<p>I think I&#8217;m somewhere in the middle: I don&#8217;t consult an instruction manual (or Google, as it were) unless I run into a serious situation. I don&#8217;t read a manual as soon as I open something, but I&#8217;m not going to pretend that I can fix something without reading up on the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The ironic thing is that because men tend to think that they can fix anything, they&#8217;re more likely to call tech support because they&#8217;ve totally borked the situation. <\/p>\n<p>Why am I reading Pravda? Because I&#8217;m bored, and am teaching myself to read Russian. Oh, if only I were joking. <\/p>\n<p>\u041a\u0420\u0423\u041d\u0427\u0413\u0418\u0420!
