Billy Corgan has chatised John Mayer for his infamous comment about sex with Jessica Simpson in the February issue of Playboy. Mayer became the subject of public scorn after he referred to the ditzy blonde — who he dated from 2005-2007 — as “sexual napalm” with a sexual appetite as addictive as “crack cocaine.” <\/p>\n

In an interview outtake from last week’s Rolling Stone Magazine, Corgan lights into Mayer, arguing that the “Clarity” crooner should have \u201ckept his mouth shut.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s trying to destroy his career. Rather than take a year off or change his musical direction, some part of it is irritating his soul to the point where he\u2019s trying to blow it up,\u201d<\/em> the former Smashing Pumpkins frontman spat. \u201cCertainly a talented guy, but empathetically, standing on the sidelines, it’s hard to watch someone literally burn their career to the ground speaking as somebody who’s done it.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I think for any person who has celebrity to sort of drop rocks at somebody else’s feet like that, there\u2019s things you should really just keep your mouths shut on,”<\/em> he adds. “There’s things that should just be left alone.”<\/em><\/p>\n
