Today will go down in history as the day that upcoming luxury convertibles made their debut through patent drawings. Earlier today, we saw the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster <\/a>and now AutoWeek<\/em> has obtained U.S. patent drawings of the upcoming Porsche Panamera convertible.<\/p>\n

Besides previous reports of Zuffenhausen insiders saying that the convertible has been canceled, it seems Porsche is committed to building the drop-top Panamera.<\/p>\n

It is reported that the four-door Porsche Panamera convertible will have no B-Pillar meaning it will require substantial stiffening to the vehicle’s floorpan and bulkheads to ensure sufficient structural rigidity and integrity.<\/p>\n

No word on when the Panamera convertible will make its debut.<\/p>\n
