Williams appears to have emerged from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/sports\/nets\/williams_pine_time_divine_9K3o2DWZeQKGX8wZUqic0J\">early-season issues<\/a>, ready to contribute where he can. There&#8217;s upside for any player with some ability on a team this desperate for production, but my only caution would be to owners who can&#8217;t afford to take a hit in efficiency. Williams shot 40 percent from the field and 59 percent from the line over the entirety of his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.draftexpress.com\/profile\/Terrence-Williams-507\/stats\/\">four-year college career<\/a>.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull; <\/strong>Chris Paul appears to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nola.com\/hornets\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/new_orleans_hornets_chris_paul_8.html\">two weeks away<\/a> from returning at a minimum. He still has yet to begin running, although he&#8217;s going through daily rehabilitation and re-evaluation. Jeff Bower offered the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;When his knee is ready to begin running, then he&#8217;ll be cleared to<br \/>\nbegin with that phase. To beginning to run, I think<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re getting close. But I don&#8217;t want to say when until I know. I don&#8217;t<br \/>\nhave (specifics) as to when he&#8217;s able to safely begin half-speed,<br \/>\nthree-quarter speed, full-speed running. Progress is being made.&quot;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul maintains that he&#8217;ll return this season, if only for one game, and it&#8217;s looking like we&#8217;ll be down to single digits by the time he is cleared to return. Two weeks from Thursday (today) is March 25, and the Hornets have nine games remaining after that date. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4626\/\">Darren Collison<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4626\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4626\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> owners would continue to glean huge numbers from the rookie in the interim (Wednesday&#8217;s line aside). My advice for Paul&#8217;s owners remains the same: you should continue to hold him as long as his being inactive doesn&#8217;t remove you from the championship picture in your league. <\/p>\n<p><a name=\"remaining-content\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull; <\/strong><span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3704\/\">LeBron James<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3704\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3704\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (ankle) is expected to be back in the lineup Friday, but the Cavs aren&#8217;t so sure about <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3247\/\">Antawn Jamison<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3247\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3247\">(notes)<\/a>.<\/span> Jamison is still dealing with stiffness (and a fluid-filled cyst, on occasion) in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cleveland.com\/cavs\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/james_jamison_dont_practice.html\">his left knee<\/a> and his status for Friday&#8217;s game has yet to be determined, although he&#8217;s said he absolutely won&#8217;t miss Sunday&#8217;s matchup with the Celtics. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4293\/\">Rodney Stuckey<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4293\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4293\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> went through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.detnews.com\/article\/20100311\/SPORTS0102\/3110433\/1127\/sports0102\/Pistons--Rodney-Stuckey-expects-to-play-again-this-season\">every test possible<\/a> &#8211; a complete cardiac evaluation at three separate facilities &#8211; and everything came back normal. He was a light participant in practice Thursday and is listed as questionable for Friday, but remains on an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mlive.com\/pistons\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/pistons_rodney_stuckey_back_on.html\">indefinite timetable<\/a> given the delicate nature of the situation. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3999\/\">Will Bynum<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3999\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3999\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> remains the handcuff\/speculative add here, but there have not been indications that the team is leaning towards shutting down Stuckey as of yet. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3119\/\">Peja Stojakovic<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3119\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3119\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> will miss <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nola.com\/hornets\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/new_orleans_hornets_peja_stoja.html\">a minimum of two weeks<\/a> with a lower abdominal strain. He suffered the injuty trying to keep up with the pace in the 135-131 win over the Warriors on Monday and missed Wednesday&#8217;s game. Given the level of his contributions at this point, he&#8217;s a safe cut in the majority of formats &#8211; there are usually a few low-FG% three-point specialists available on the wire. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4291\/\">Julian Wright<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4291\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4291\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> will start for him in the interim (37 minutes, 10 points, 3 boards, 1 steal Wednesday) and should get a look in the deepest of leagues. With <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3420\/\">Morris Peterson<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3420\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3420\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> and <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3341\/\">James Posey<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3341\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3341\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> offering so little these days, he&#8217;s really their only option at small forward, and his per-35 minute averages on the season include 10.1 points, 6.4 boards, 1 steal, and 0.8 blocks.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"8\" src=\"http:\/\/a323.yahoofs.com\/ymg\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts__25\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts-46247721-1268349335.jpg?ymX2wzCDqkFa_Ckj\" \/><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3966\/\">Monta Ellis<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3966\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3966\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/sports\/ci_14652185\">leaning towards returning<\/a> to the active roster Thursday, having missed the past six games with back pain. Ellis fully participated in Wednesday&#8217;s practice but will wait to see how he feels after the Warriors&#8217; game-day activities before making a decision. Ellis also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2010\/03\/11\/SPFG1CE0EJ.DTL&amp;feed=rss.warriors\">revealed<\/a> that his back pain can be linked to a condition called spondylosis, as he was born with a small hole at the base of his spine. While he&#8217;s been bothered by back pain periodically since high school, the Warriors said they aren&#8217;t concerned with this news having long-term ramifications. Perhaps they will at least be a bit more inclined to not allow him to average 42 minutes per game? &#8230; <em>Also for the Warriors:<\/em> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4354\/\">C.J. Gibson&#8217;s plantar fasciitis has flared up (he played just 13 minutes Tuesday), but he&#8217;s going to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.suntimes.com\/bulls\/2010\/03\/deng_out_gibson_to_play.html\">fight through it<\/a> Thursday and give what he can.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3731\/\">Leandro Barbosa&#8217;s<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3731\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3731\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> percent-owned number has climbed to 42 percent in recent days, with news that he&#8217;s returned to practice, but I&#8217;m not sure there&#8217;s much reason for it. Barbosa&#8217;s right wrist is still weak enough that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/sports\/suns\/articles\/2010\/03\/11\/20100311phoenix-suns-leandro-barbosa.html\">he won&#8217;t try to play Friday<\/a>, and he doesn&#8217;t know how much more time he&#8217;ll need to get right. But the real question I have is how many minutes will be there for him when he does return. Alvin Gentry offered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/sports\/suns\/articles\/2010\/03\/10\/20100310suns-leandro-barbosa-close-to-return.html\">this quote<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;I talked to [Barbosa] the other day about it and said, &#8216;When you get in, if<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re going good and making baskets obviously we&#8217;ll ride that. But in<br \/>\ncertain situations you may not play the minutes you want to play.&#8217;&quot; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s unwise to be expecting consistent minutes for Barbosa, let alone a role significant enough to warrant standard-league ownership.
