The Australian federal government\u2019s Department of Climate Change … has told a parliamentary committee that its Canberra headquarters achieved only a 2\u00bd-star rating on the five-star National Australian Built Environment Rating System and did not comply with the government\u2019s policy on energy efficiency in its own operations<\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n

As a result, it is seeking approval to spend $20.5 million fitting out a new building which will have \u2018\u2019state of the art\u2019\u2019 green features …<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Once that\u2019s done, they can bully everyone else into five-star ratings. That is, every one else who doesn\u2019t have taxpayers to cough up the millions needed.<\/p>\n
