Moscow says the United States<\/a> and NATO\u2019s inaction in fighting drug trafficking in Afghanistan<\/a>, translates into an \u201cundeclared war<\/a>\u201d against Russia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Russia<\/a>\u2019s ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin slammed the alliance for its loose surveillance on drug trafficking out of Afghanistan<\/a>, the Associated Press reported on Friday.<\/p>\n

Afghanistan<\/a> produces some 90 percent of the world\u2019s opium. The Afghan drugs<\/a> enter Russia<\/a> and Central Asia before reaching Western Europe.<\/p>\n

Rogozin said the drugs<\/a> imported from Afghanistan<\/a> kill 30,000 people in Russia<\/a> annually, adding that this amounted to \u201can undeclared war<\/a> against our country<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moscow as well argues that the drug production within the Afghan borders has increased ten times since the 2001 US<\/a>-led invasion of the country<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are currently more than 100,000 US<\/a>-led troopers staged in Afghanistan<\/a>. The war<\/a>-weary nation is as well hit with unprecedented levels of violence which is seen as a militant reaction to the sprawling military<\/a> presence.<\/p>\n
