The move would emulate a similar action by Google recently, who gave away <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2010\/03\/02\/google-handing-out-free-nexus-ones-and-droids-to-top-android-devs\/\" >Nexus One\u2019s to Android\u2019s Developers<\/a>, and much poorer Palm who is only giving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phonearena.com\/htmls\/Palm-developers-get-treated-to-a-20-percent-discount-on-Palm-phones-article-a_10221.html\" >developers a 20% discount<\/a> on handsets.<\/p>\n<p>While the move is clearly not without precedent, and Microsoft often gives developers deep discounts on Windows Mobile handsets, in this particular case Microsoft would be giving away alpha software on beta hardware, which does seem rather unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>I am sure many MIX10 developers will continue to dream however \u2026 <img src='http:\/\/wmpoweruser.com\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' \/> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#160; Rumours are running rife that Microsoft will be giving away free Windows Phone 7 series phones to all MIX10 attendees to prime the developer pump.
