{"id":428410,"date":"2010-03-15T04:30:31","date_gmt":"2010-03-15T08:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firedoglake.com\/?p=72952"},"modified":"2010-03-15T04:30:31","modified_gmt":"2010-03-15T08:30:31","slug":"the-appearance-of-profitability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/428410","title":{"rendered":"The Appearance of Profitability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has become apparent that from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.democracynow.org\/2005\/8\/18\/conflict_of_interest_roberts_interviews_with\">Roberts<\/a>, to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spokesmanreview.com\/breaking\/story.asp?ID=1853\">Scalia<\/a>, to <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2005\/10\/31\/alito-500k-investment-isnt-a-conflict-of-interest\/\">Alito<\/a>, to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/headlines\/121200-02.htm\">Thomas<\/a> there is no such thing as an appearance of impropriety to a conservative justice.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-72958\" href=\"http:\/\/firedoglake.com\/2010\/03\/15\/the-appearance-of-profitability\/clarence-and-virginia-thomas1\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-72958\" title=\"clarence and virginia thomas1\" src=\"http:\/\/static1.firedoglake.com\/1\/files\/2010\/03\/clarence-and-virginia-thomas1-150x109.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"109\" \/><\/a>But how nice for Clarence Thomas that in voting with the 5-4 majority in <em>Citizens United<\/em> he not only saw no conflict of interest; he managed to give his wife a business opportunity CA-CHING!<\/p>\n<p>As  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/nation-and-world\/la-na-thomas14-2010mar14,0,6505384.story?page=1\">&#8220;an ordinary citizen from Omaha, Neb.&#8221; and Teabagger.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Although the busier Mrs. Thomas stays, the less likely she is to review her husband&#8217;s &#8220;history&#8221; file on the home PC.
