It&#8217;s enough to get one wondering if our definition of health is merely the absence of these symptoms. As a nutritionist, I, of course, spend a lot of time helping people live up to their own ideas of what healthy means to them and in light of March being <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.dietitians.ca\/public\/content\/eat_well_live_well\/english\/nutritionmonth\/index.asp\">National Nutrition Mont<\/a>h, I thought I&#8217;d share with you my idea of optimum health. <\/p>\n<p>I was pleasantly surprised to learn how the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/about\/definition\/en\/print.html\">World Health Organization (WHO),<\/a> defined &#8220;health&#8221; in 1948 (they have never felt the need to update this, either): &#8220;A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatsfit.ca\/2010\/03\/16\/is-good-health-merely-the-absence-of-disease-no\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Continue reading <em>Is Good Health Merely the Absence of Disease?
