Corey Haim was laid to rest in his hometown of Toronto today.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n Several hundred close friends and family members remembered the ’80s icon as a “good soul and a fun-loving guy” as they packed into the Steeles Memorial Chapel in Thornhill, Ontario Tuesday. Haim\u2019s longtime friend and frequent co-star Corey Feldman did not attend the funeral, choosing to remain in Los Angeles in bid to grant the family’s wish for privacy.<\/p>\n Fan Jennifer Matton drove eight hours from Philadelphia to Corey’s hometown of Toronto to show her support.<\/p>\n “I think I’m his number one fan. I’ve loved him since I was 13. I’ve never done anything like this before, but when I found out he died, I was very sad.”<\/em><\/p>\n The 38-year-old was found dead last week in the Los Angeles apartment he shared with his mother. He had been suffering from flu-like symptoms.
