One route to mitigate global warming is geoengineering or using human-developed technologies to alter climate on a global scale. Caldeira is at the forefront of this controversial process, having just shared a $4.5 million funding<\/a> from Bill Gates to to find and support promising\u00a0 geoengineering technologies.<\/p>\n
