Young & In Love, Miley Cyrus is filming the final season of Hannah Montana<\/em> — the Disney Channel series that shot her to teen superstardom — and the sometimes controversial starlet couldn’t be happier that the end of the show means she’ll no longer have to get dressed up in frilly pink outfits and a blonde wig. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be\u2026well, to not be somebody I\u2019m not exactly,\u201d<\/em> Miley reveals in Parade Magazine\u2019s<\/a><\/em> March 21 issue. \u201cAs I\u2019ve grown into it, I\u2019ve grown out of it. Does that make sense? When I was 12, I thought, \u2018I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n She continued, “A friend came by the set one day and said, \u2018You don\u2019t look very happy.\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills.\u2019\u201d Miley — who is dating former Australian soap star Liam Hemsworth, her co-star in the new drama The Last Song<\/em> — also sounded off on her controversial pole dancing routine at last summer’s Teen Choice Awards. Don’t like it? “Change the channel,” <\/em> Miley retorts.<\/p>\n \u201cMy job first is to entertain and do what I love, and if you don\u2019t like it, then change the channel. I\u2019m not forcing you to watch me. I\u2019m not forcing you to talk about me. I would do that pole dance a thousand times again, because it was right for the song and that performance,\u201d<\/em> the teen starlet says flatly. \u201cBut, dude, if you think dancing on top of an ice-cream cart with a pole is bad, then go check what 90% of the high schoolers are really up to. It\u2019s funny. I don\u2019t know if a lot of parents remember what they were like as kids. But I\u2019m like, \u2018Dude, as if you were an angel!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Miley On Liam Hemsworth: \u201cHe\u2019s my first serious boyfriend,\u201d says Miley, who insists her puppy love unions with exes Nick Jonas and underwear model Justin Gaston pale in comparison to her love with Liam. \u201cNick and I were so young. We really did have a genuine love, but it wasn\u2019t like this. We met when I was 12. I didn\u2019t know who I was. I know who I am now and am so content and full of purpose.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n On Godmother Dolly Parton<\/strong>: \u201cShe is the nicest person in the world. She\u2019s so easy to talk to. She\u2019s awesome. I love her. She always tells me just to do what I love and if I\u2019m not having fun it\u2019s not working. I don\u2019t know how old she is at this point but every time she is on the stage she is smiling from ear to ear.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n On Lady Gaga<\/strong>: \u201cI love her. She\u2019s really smart. I caught her on Oprah and she was really chill. I used to be like, yeah, I guess she\u2019s talented but how much is she really singing. But I\u2019ve become a convert. She has to be smart to come up with all her gags and the stuff she comes up with. She gets it. She knows exactly what she\u2019s doing. It\u2019s like Dolly Parton. Dolly plays up that I\u2019m-a-cute-dumb-blonde but, believe me, she\u2019s not dumb. She\u2019s sitting on a ba-jillion dollars.\u201d\u2028\u2028 <\/em><\/p>\n On Why She Avoids Country Music<\/strong>: \u201cIt scares me, that\u2019s why. It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you\u2019re wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it\u2019s not going to sell. I think that\u2019s why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie.
