{"id":443300,"date":"2010-03-18T13:41:32","date_gmt":"2010-03-18T17:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"tag:blogs.suntimes.com,2010:\/sweet\/\/25.33042"},"modified":"2010-03-18T13:50:21","modified_gmt":"2010-03-18T17:50:21","slug":"with-health-vote-looming-obama-postponing-indonesia-guam-australia-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/443300","title":{"rendered":"With health vote looming, Obama postponing Indonesia, Guam, Australia trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON&#8211;White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday that President Obama will postpone his trip to Indonesia, Australia and Guam to stay in town for showdown votes on health care that could come this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Obama&#8217;s original schedule had him departing on March 18; he pushed it back to Sunday morning and on Thursday Gibbs said the whole trip was scratched until June.<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;The president telephoned the leader of Indonesia and will call <br \/>\n the leader of Australia later this afternoon and told them that he    \t       <br \/>\n most &#8212; must postpone his planned visits for a later date so that he  \t  <br \/>\n can remain in Washington for this critical vote.  The president now      <br \/>\n expects to visit Indonesia in June,&#8221; Gibbs said.\t     \t    \t   \t  <\/p>\n<p>      &#8220;The president greatly regrets the delay.
