A CT scan of his head and neck came back negative but the team is taking no chances and &quot;will evaluate him on a day-to-day basis.&quot; This is obviously gut-wrenching for his fantasy owners, but I can&#8217;t condone a drop in standard leagues before waiting at least a few days for more specifics. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3723\/\">Dahntay Jones<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3723\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3723\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> started Wednesday (29 minutes, 10 points, 6 boards, 1 steal) and certainly looks like a decent short-term play [<a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/teams\/ind\/schedule\">schedule<\/a>] if you have a roster spot in play. Granger owners: keep your fingers crossed and update your Watch List in the event that a move will eventually be necessary. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4301\/\">Wilson Chandler<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4301\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4301\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> has shut it down in an effort to rest a nagging groin injury that first occurred in mid-January. Although his season hasn&#8217;t <em>officially <\/em>ended, neither he nor the Knicks are interested in <a href=\"%22He%20will%20take%20as%20long%20it%20needs,%22%20D%27Antoni%20said.%20%22He%20needs%20to%20have%20a%20good%20summer%20of%20work.%20We%20don%27t%20want%20to%20rush%20him%20back%20and%20risk%20any%20injury.%20I%27m%20hoping%20two,%20three%20weeks.%20But%20if%20it%27s%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20year,%20it%27s%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20year.%22%20%20Read%20more:%20http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/sports\/knicks\/no_lo_contender_SfB8BNt8GjhqNs5E7vXrmL#ixzz0iYUPKe7t\">risking a major injury<\/a> while playing out the string for this disaster of a team. Here&#8217;s a telling Mike D&#8217;Antoni quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;He will take as long it needs,&quot; D&#8217;Antoni said. &quot;He needs to have a good<br \/>\n summer of work. We don&#8217;t want to rush him back and risk any injury. I&#8217;m<br \/>\n hoping two, three weeks. But if it&#8217;s the rest of the year, it&#8217;s the<br \/>\nrest of the year.&quot; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fantasy owners that were only going to get two games from Chandler next week as it was [<a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/teams\/nyk\/schedule?view=calendar&amp;y=2010&amp;m=03\">schedule<\/a>] and he&#8217;s droppable in standard leagues. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4509\/\">Bill Walker<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4509\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4509\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is next in line on the depth chart &#8211; he started Wednesday but dealt with foul trouble (23 minutes, 8 points, 4 fouls). His career <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/walkebi01.html\">per-36s<\/a> are useful (14.8 points, 0.8 threes, 4.2 boards, 1 steal) and he showed in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.draftexpress.com\/profile\/Bill-Walker-552\/stats\/\">college<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nba.com\/dleague\/playerfile\/index.jsp?player=bill_walker\">D-League<\/a> that he can at least score.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"remaining-content\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chandler had been averaging 38 minutes since the All-Star break, so we&#8217;re talking about substantial minutes being up for grabs. If T-Mac were to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/sports\/knicks\/rest_of_season_will_be_mcgrueling_5cvNDCFVQOTURUrysjFHSI\">shut it down<\/a> at some point, it would mean even more available minutes for players like Walker and <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4634\/\">Toney Douglas<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4634\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4634\">(notes)<\/a>.<\/span> Even <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3436\/\">Eddie House<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3436\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3436\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/teams\/nyk\/report\">hurting<\/a> right now. With the Knicks only playing two games (DEN, @PHO), you can&#8217;t plan on much more than 30 points, two threes, eight boards, and two steals this coming week. If it comes to it, you can drop him on Friday for someone with a Saturday game and still get a three-game week from the roster spot. Week 23 brings four games (@UTH, @POR, @GSW, @LAC), so both he and Douglas will be factors at that point. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3930\/\">Chris Paul<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3930\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3930\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is getting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nola.com\/hornets\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/new_orleans_hornets_point_guar_12.html\">closer<\/a> to a return, and his current targets are either Saturday (@UTH) or Monday (DAL). Figure on the trio of Paul, <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4626\/\">Darren Collison<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4626\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4626\">(notes)<\/a>,<\/span> and <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4648\/\">Marcus Thornton<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4648\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4648\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> monopolizing the minutes at both guard spots moving forward, and there&#8217;s room for all three players to produce even after Paul gets back. All three players should fall between the high 20s and mid 30s on any given night. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3347\/\">Andrei Kirilenko<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3347\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3347\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> lasted just 17 minutes (9 points, 1 steal, 1 block) Wednesday before aggravating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deseretnews.com\/article\/700017487\/Utah-Jazz-Injuries-continue-to-pile-up-for-Jazz-Deron-Williams.html\">a left calf injury<\/a> that had cost him the previous two games. He left the arena in a walking boot and will be re-evaluated before the team&#8217;s back-to-back on Friday\/Saturday (@PHO, NOR). He&#8217;s officially day-to-day, but there&#8217;s certainly a chance that he won&#8217;t be able to go Friday. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3960\/\">C.J. He came down awkwardly on his left ankle early in Wednesday&#8217;s game and then aggravated a left shoulder injury late in the game. He&#8217;ll have a precautionary MRI on the shoulder Thursday but isn&#8217;t expected to miss any time as of yet. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"8\" src=\"http:\/\/a323.yahoofs.com\/ymg\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts__25\/ept_sports_fantasy_experts-576133864-1268951199.jpg?ymfyD2CDlrmqTUIQ\" \/><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4612\/\">Stephen Curry<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4612\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4612\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> missed Wednesday&#8217;s game with a sprained left ankle and is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2010\/03\/17\/SPP91CHKLK.DTL\">day-to-day<\/a>. He was a late scratch, as he didn&#8217;t feel right shortly before game-time despite no problems at shootaround earlier in the day. We&#8217;ll need to see a Friday update before we know his status for the Warriors&#8217; upcoming back-to-back (Fri @SAS, Sat @MEM). <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4354\/\">C.J. His original target was Saturday but that now appears to be in jeopardy, barring a sudden turnaround in two days. We don&#8217;t know exactly how much longer Deng will need to recover, but <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4621\/\">James Johnson<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4621\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4621\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (30 minutes, 13.3 points, 1.3 threes, 3.5 boards, 1 steal, 1.5 blocks in four starts) makes for a reasonable option for the team&#8217;s upcoming back-to-back (Fri CLE, Sat @PHI) and possibly beyond &#8230; <em>Also for the Bulls:<\/em> all involved parties are hopeful that both <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4387\/\">Derrick Rose<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4387\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4387\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (wrist) and <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4287\/\">Joakim Noah<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4287\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4287\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (plantar fasciitis) will return Saturday. Noah would see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/sports\/basketball\/bulls\/ct-spt-0317-bits-bulls-grizzlies-chicago-20100316,0,6987624,full.story\">very limited minutes<\/a> if he were able to return. And <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4631\/\">Taj Gibson<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4631\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4631\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> keeps playing while his plantar fasciitis gets worse, making him a pretty risky option at this point. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong>&nbsp; If he believes that <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4391\/\">Kevin Love<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4391\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4391\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is healthy, then why did<br \/>\nKurt Rambis play him for only 17 minutes in the team&#8217;s 22-point loss to<br \/>\nthe Jazz? Could it be that some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/sports\/wolves\/87273567.html\">recent<br \/>\ncomments<\/a> rubbed Rambis the wrong way? This is how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/blogs\/88341892.html\">Rambis explained<\/a><br \/>\n what Love needs to be doing these days:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&quot;He&#8217;s just got to continue to fight through with whatever<br \/>\nfrustration<br \/>\nhe&#8217;s feeling now. That&#8217;s what guys do at this level.<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ve got to let go, move forward. It&#8217;s worth noting that the Grizzlies only play four games in the next 12 days [<a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/teams\/mem\/schedule\">schedule<\/a>].&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> For the Pistons: both <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4293\/\">Rodney Stuckey<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/4293\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.4293\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> and <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3149\/\">Ben Wallace<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3149\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_nba.p.3149\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mlive.com\/pistons\/index.ssf\/2010\/03\/rodney_stuckey_ben_wallace_lik.html\">full participants<\/a> in Thursday&#8217;s practice and will be in the lineup Friday.
