Credit: File Photo\"><\/img> A wind advisory will be in effect through noon Friday for parts of Southern California as Santa Ana winds blow into the region, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrh.noaa.gov\/lox\/\">National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding high pressure will bring gusty northeast winds,\u201d said Dessa Emch, a program manager at the National Weather Service office in Oxnard. \u201cThe strongest winds will be through the passes and canyons of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Local gusty winds also were expected in the valleys and in the Santa Monica Mountains, she said. A wind advisory is typically issued when winds of more than 35 mph are expected. <\/p>\n<p>Gusts of up to 50 mph will blow through passes and canyons, she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,\u201d Emch said. \u201cWe always advise drivers to use extra caution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winds will decrease Friday afternoon to 15 mph to 25 mph, Emch said.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures will reach the upper 70s in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys and in the Santa Monica Mountain areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Ann M.
