Obviously, I am interested in China’s hit-to-kill program, whether it is aimed at satellites<\/a> or ballistic missiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Someone posted a very<\/em> interesting analysis of the Chinese hit-to-kill program on a Chinese bulletin board<\/a> (in Chinese of course). (I am not sure which is the original version, though I think it may be one<\/a> of two<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

It is starting to make its way around — the post was extensively cited in a IISS<\/span> Strategic Comment<\/a>, and was reviewed by the blog TaiwanLink<\/a> (which I have been meaning to recommend to readers.) Since Strategic Comments are unsigned and TaiwanLink is anonymous, two or even all three may have the same author. I honestly don’t know. But it seems that this little bbs posting is worthy of a closer look.<\/p>\n

I don’t know yet how to evaluate the claims in the article — the author warns “\u8349\u8349\u800c\u6210\uff0c\u8bb9\u8bef\u96be\u514d\uff0c\u4ec5\u4f9b\u53c2\u8003.” I’ll let you decide what to make of that injunction. (My Chinese just isn’t good enough.) But (s)he offers names, dates and places that can be confirmed, which is always encouraging.<\/p>\n

Also, the author is apparently a reader — (s)he reproduces an image from Geoff’s post, SBIRS\u2014Two Heads are Better than One<\/a>). <\/p>\n

So.<\/p>\n

I thought we might have a useful discussion of the post. And, since the author is at least familiar with the website, perhaps (s)he’d like to participate. I think it is a little early to annoint a random BBS<\/span> post as the definitive account of the test, but on the other hand the author — in haste or not — seems to have put in a fair amount of research.<\/p>\n
