He embodies the DIY punk rock spirit and has created an impressive body of work. His body is pretty hot too, but that&#8217;s another matter.<\/p>\n<p>The other day he sent me <a href=\"http:\/\/www.svengaliworld.com\/episodes\/svengali_s1_JRLesson.mp4\">a link to this video<\/a>, and I was touched to see he&#8217;d included me in the thank yous. All I did was write about him and later host him on <a href=\"http:\/\/firedoglake.com\/2010\/02\/08\/movie-night-svengali-and-director-john-roecker\/\">FDL Movie Night<\/a>, but to John anyone who actually does anything creative&#8211;whether it&#8217;s about him or or not&#8211;deserves a thank you because they are being true to themselves.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, this poignant video is his self-directed artistic retrospective, a love letter to Los Angeles, movies, and punk rock, a celebration of creativity, a paeon to the urge to be a demiurge, a call to manifest.<\/p>\n<p>Now get out the knitting needles and Modge Podge!
