Donna Edwards (D-MD)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Continued live-blogging of the House floor debate on health care bill today as the Energy and Commerce Committee time ends and the Ways and Means Committee time begins.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Sander Levin (MI): Discusses patient stories, says \u201cRepublicans have turned their backs on Americans.\u00a0 This will make our beloved America a better nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ranking Member Dave Camp (MI): The American people know you can\u2019t create a brand new trillion dollar entitlement program without expanding the deficit.\u00a0 Kill the bill!<\/p>\n<p>Levin yields to Charlie Rangel: \u201cOne of my lowest points in my political career was yielding my chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee.\u00a0 I did not want to do anything that might distract from this historic bill, and I am now, when people ask, How are you today?\u00a0 This is one of the most historic moments on my life\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Donna Edwards realizes she has a difficulty \u2014 both the controllers of time are gentlemen from Michigan!<\/p>\n<p>Wally Herger: \u201cThe American people don\u2019t want to raid the treasury to cut Medicare and pay for abortions!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Levin: Mr Stark will submit a statement, yield to Georgia\u2019s John Lewis: \u201cWe have a moral obligation to recognize that health care is a right, not a privilege, the American people need health care and they need it now.\u00a0 Stand with the American people!\u00a0 Give the American people a victory!
