State GOP Chairman Chris Healy calls tonight’s vote “illegal” and predicts it’s impact will be  “disasterous.”<\/p>\n

“Connecticut’s Congressional delegation has shown its true colors – supporting the political agenda of Nancy Pelosi over the health care needs of millions of Americans.”<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
“The Democrats have betrayed the American people and have set this nation on a perilous course with an illegal vote that will saddle taxpayers with more debt while providing fewer with quality health care options.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“Never has politics been used with such ruthlessness on such an important issue – one that affects every citizen in this country. Every significant piece of legislation in the history of this republic occurred with votes from both parties. The impact of this action will be disastrous until it is repealed.”<\/span><\/div>\n

“Hundreds of thousands of seniors in Connecticut will suffer Medicare cuts; thousands of businesses, already weakened, will be punished with new taxes and regulations. And thousands of working people, fortunate enough to have jobs, will be forced to either pay for insurance or pay a penalty.<\/span><\/div>\n

“This issue is not over. It is only the beginning of this debate.”<\/span><\/div>\n

“Republicans will continue to support common sense reforms that promote choice and cost reductions through the free market, NOT by levying $500 billion in taxes, cutting Medicare by $500 billion and hiring 6,000 new IRS agents to make sure businesses and individuals are complying with this unprecedented government takeover of one sixth of our economy.”<\/span><\/div>\n
