Has Scrubs<\/em> finally flat-lined? According to series star Zach Braff, after nine seasons and two networks, the long-running spoof medical comedy is a goner.<\/p>\n

Braff says the ABC series won’t return for a tenth season next fall: “Many of you have asked, so here it is: It appears that ‘New Scrubs,’ ‘Scrubs 2.0,’ ‘Scrubs with new kids,’ ‘Scrubbier,’ ‘Scrubs without JD’ is no more. It was worth a try, but alas … it didn’t work. zb…..”<\/em> Zach announced on his Facebook page this week.<\/p>\n

Questions first emerged about the future of Scrubs<\/em> after longtime star Donald Faison signed up for a new pilot that will premiere next season.<\/p>\n

Braff, who played Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian on the medical series, starred in only a handful of episodes this season, which attempted to reboot the show and attract a new audience by adding younger cast members.<\/p>\n

Scrubs<\/em> producer Bill Lawrence responded to the actor’s comments, saying that while the show “hasn’t been cancelled, we’re all just assuming it’s over.”<\/em> ABC has yet to announce a final decision concerning the future of Scrubs<\/em>.<\/p>\n
