{"id":467380,"date":"2010-03-24T13:39:16","date_gmt":"2010-03-24T17:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c630a53ef01310fd78f80970c"},"modified":"2010-03-24T13:39:16","modified_gmt":"2010-03-24T17:39:16","slug":"two-men-killed-in-santa-fe-springs-collision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/467380","title":{"rendered":"Two men killed in Santa Fe Springs collision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two young men were killed when their SUV swerved off a Santa Fe Springs\u00a0freeway embankment, flew into the air and landed on its roof, authorities said Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>The pair were traveling north on the 5 Freeway in a Nissan Xterra about 11:25 p.m. Tuesday when their vehicle veered onto the shoulder near the 605 Freeway for an unknown reason, said CHP Officer Jake Richter.<\/p>\n<p> The SUV collided with a row of trees and shrubs before swerving onto a raised embankment near the Florence Avenue on-ramp. It became airborne, soared over the on-ramp and landed on its roof, Richter said. <\/p>\n<p>The passenger, a 19-year-old Lakewood man, was ejected from the SUV, and the driver, an 18-year-old Cerritos man, was partially ejected, Richter said.
