There are more problems for Pope Benedict.\u00a0\u00a0 Documents published \u00a0indicate he could be involved in yet another child abuse scandal.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s all about a now deceased priest Lawrence Murphy.\u00a0 There are accusations he abused up to 200 children at a school for the deaf in Wisconsin up until the 1970\u2019s.<\/p>\n
After some twenty years in 1996 an Archbishop in Wisconsin informed then-Cardinal Ratzinger in Rome who handled these matters.\u00a0 There was no response.<\/p>\n
Religious proceedings were then pressed against Murphy but then dropped following a letter from priest to Ratzinger.<\/p>\n
There was no apology this week from the Pope\u00a0\u00a0 Just a strong defense in the form of a Vatican statement.<\/p>\n
Rome claims Wisconsin authorities didn\u2019t act against priest. Church law doesn\u2019t specify any exact penalties<\/p>\n
The Wisconsin Archdiocese didn\u2019t tell Vatican until long after the incidents.<\/p>\n
And by the time attention was paid Murphy was old and\u00a0sick.<\/p>\n
