But new home sales continue to remain quite weak.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s chart, showing the &#8220;distressing&#8221; gap between the two measures, comes courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calculatedriskblog.com\/2009\/11\/existing-home-sales-distressing-gap.html\">Calculated Risk<\/a>, which explains:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The initial gap was caused by the flood of distressed sales.
