Auto Press<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Although Chrysler\u2019s winged emblem would fit perfectly over Fiat\u2019s badge and strikethrough chrome bar up front on the 500\u2019s nose, the cute little European will serve as a friendly \u201cHi, I\u2019m back again,\u201d notice to North American consumers that may have parents still remember how difficult it was to get parts for cars that needed them often.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_13081\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 623px\"><a style=\"text-decoration:none;\" href=\"http:\/\/autotraderca.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/fiat_500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13081\" title=\"Fiat 500\" src=\"http:\/\/autotraderca.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/03\/fiat_500.jpg?w=613&#038;h=345\" alt=\"Fiat 500\" width=\"613\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fiat 500<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The modern Fiat is a much different car company than that distant memory, however, and while its cars were once temperamental they almost always delivered high style and reasonably good performance, for the era.\u00a0 The new 500 will perform in an entirely new way for today\u2019s buyer, mind you, as an ultra-hip urban runabout and outrageously frugal gas miser.\u00a0 And just announced, also as a pure electric vehicle destined, dubbed 500EV, sure to have North American environmentalists spinning on their axes to get a better look.<span id=\"more-13080\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Fiat 500 showed up on Chrysler\u2019s auto show stand this year, but the automaker waiting until now to announce that the 500EV would be arriving in 2012.\u00a0 Featuring an advanced lithium-ion battery pack, a high-powered electric powertrain module and EV control unit, the tiny commuter will actually be engineered at Chrysler\u2019s Auburn Hills
