The move is expected to take place sometime in 2012 when the next-generation S-Class sedan arrives.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Mercedes-Benz offers its S-Class with one hybrid model, the S400 Hybrid. The model is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine mated to a compact hybrid module. Working together the system makes 295-hp with a peak torque of 284 lb-ft. Mated to 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission, it goes from 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Fuel-economy figures come in at 19\/26 mpg (city\/highway). Prices for the S400 Hybrid start at $87,950.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.autobytel.com\/content\/research\/chooser\/index.cfm\/action\/SelectTrim\/make_vch\/Mercedes-Benz\/model_vch\/S-Class\/cat\/Any\/year_si\/0\/minprice\/0\/maxprice\/999999\/mpg\/any\/id\/31622\"><strong>Click here to get prices on the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes-Benz has already confirmed that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.egmcartech.com\/2010\/03\/09\/amg-unveils-new-5-5l-v8-biturbo-will-debut-in-new-s-63-amg-this-summer\/\">the next-generation S 63 AMG will be powered by a 5.5L V8 biturbo engine<\/a> that makes between 544-hp to 571-hp.
