{"id":474697,"date":"2010-03-19T15:04:01","date_gmt":"2010-03-19T19:04:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.caranddriver.com\/?p=17415"},"modified":"2010-03-19T15:04:01","modified_gmt":"2010-03-19T19:04:01","slug":"mclaren-gives-mp4-12c-acceleration-estimates-it%e2%80%99s-going-to-be-fast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/474697","title":{"rendered":"McLaren Gives MP4-12C Acceleration Estimates: It\u2019s Going to Be Fast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.caranddriver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2011-McLaren-MP4-12C.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-17421\" title=\"2011 McLaren MP4-12C\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.caranddriver.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2011-McLaren-MP4-12C-440x293.jpg\" alt=\"2011 McLaren MP4-12C\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.caranddriver.com\/mclaren-automotive-officially-launched-new-stakeholder-to-fund-future-models\/\">McLaren Automotive&#8217;s grand opening<\/a> yesterday, the company has released more details on its upcoming supercar, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/news\/car\/09q3\/2011_mclaren_mp4-12c-official_photos_and_info\">MP4-12C<\/a>, and the preliminary numbers look quite promising.<\/p>\n<p>Utilizing the launch-control function of its dual-clutch, seven-speed gearbox (there&#8217;s no three-pedal manual available), McLaren claims the car is capable of a 0-to-60-mph time of under 3 seconds and a 0\u2013124 time of under 10 seconds. Those acceleration numbers would make the 600-horsepower 12C quicker than the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (3.4 seconds), the Ferrari 430 Scuderia (3.5), the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (3.2), and possibly the new Porsche 911 Turbo (2.9). We haven&#8217;t tested the new 562-horsepower Ferrari 458 Italia, but our estimate for that car is a 3.3-second run to 60.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-17415\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although McLaren wasn&#8217;t ready to release the curb weight of the new car (or the <em>kerb <\/em>weight, for that matter), it did reveal that the dry weight\u2014weight without any fluids\u2014of the lightest version will come in at 2860 pounds.
