Try Ford&#8217;s Active Park Assist<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lexus was first to offer an automated parking system, launched for 2007 on its fourth-generation LS flagship. Although it generated a lot of hype, the system was quite clunky to use, requiring much input from the driver to work properly and only operating at speeds approaching a crawl.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-16066\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our experience with that car contributed to a collective yawn in the <em>C\/D<\/em> bunker when Ford announced its \u201cactive park assist\u201d in 2009. Then we tried the automated parallel-parking system and were shocked at how well it worked.
