Stuebi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Of all the cleantech technology sectors, the one I can least keep track of is batteries. For those of you who want to keep pulse of this dynamic arena, a <a href=\"http:\/\/thisweekinbatteries.blogspot.com\/\">new blog called This Week in Batteries<\/a> is just what you might be looking for.<\/p>\n<p>The host of this blog is Venkat Srinivasan, who is part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/batt.lbl.gov\/\">Batteries for Advanced Transportation Technologies (BATT) Program<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lbl.gov\/\">Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory<\/a>, so he should be pretty near the center of the action in the battery world &#8212; at least as it pertains to electric vehicle applications.<\/p>\n<p>Srinivasan&#8217;s most recent post is a nice riff exposing the absurdity of extrapolating <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moore\">Moore&#8217;s Law<\/a> for semiconductors to other realms of technology advancement &#8212; as if forever-continuing exponential improvements won&#8217;t bump up against the laws of physics.<\/p>\n<p><em>Richard T. Stuebi is a founding principal of the advanced energy initiative at <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nortech.org\/\"><em>NorTech<\/em><\/a><em>, where he is on loan from <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clevelandfoundation.org\/\"><em>The Cleveland Foundation<\/em><\/a><em> as its Fellow of Energy and Environmental Advancement.
