{"id":474772,"date":"2010-03-25T12:40:09","date_gmt":"2010-03-25T16:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/climateprogress.org\/?p=20788"},"modified":"2010-03-25T12:40:09","modified_gmt":"2010-03-25T16:40:09","slug":"update-vote-often-for-climate-progress-in-treehugger%e2%80%99s-best-of-green-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/474772","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE:  Vote often for Climate Progress in TreeHugger\u2019s Best of Green Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.treehugger.com\/best-of-green\/business-politics\/index.php\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onearth.org\/files\/onearth\/images\/best_of_green_badge2010_02big.gif\" alt=\"Best of Green logo\" width=\"144\" height=\"144\" align=\"right\" \/>Click  here to vote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m updating this post because I now see you can vote every day (!) for Climate Progress in TreeHugger&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.treehugger.com\/best-of-green\/business-politics\/index.php\">Best of Green Awards.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve got a whole &#8216;nother week (through April 2) to vote for CP in the category of Best Political Website.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-20788\"><\/span>Sure, you like the insider&#8217;s view of climate science, solution, and politics delivered every day to you for free.\u00a0\u00a0 But the other nominees are pretty darn good, too.<\/p>\n<p>Why should you vote for CP?\u00a0 Well, set aside all issues of merit, look at the competition, and vote strategically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mother Jones&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/motherjones.com\/blue-marble\">Blue Marble<\/a>.\u00a0 Great website.\u00a0 Mostly the work of the impeccable Kate Sheppard.\u00a0 But you can &#8212; and should &#8212; vote for her for Best Twitter Feed.\u00a0 She&#8217;s like the Meryl Streep of climate blogging with these two nominations.\u00a0 And everybody knows that Best Twitter Feed is the more sought after award, the one that brings in the big endorsement contracts.<\/li>\n<li>NRDC&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onearth.org\/\">On Earth<\/a>. <\/em>Another must-read website, from the distinguished Natural Resources Defense Council, home to many great environmental champions.\u00a0 But you can &#8212; and should &#8212; vote for NRDC for Best Watchdog Organization.\u00a0 Who barks louder than NRDC?\u00a0 And everybody knows that Best Watchdog Organization is the more sought after award, the one that brings in the big donor contributions!<\/li>\n<li>NYT&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com\/\">Dot Earth<\/a>.\u00a0 I know what your thinking, but here&#8217;s the thing.\u00a0 If Revkin wins, people at the <em>New York Times<\/em> might start to ask themselves why is he nominated for Best Political Website.\u00a0 Is he getting all political, now?\u00a0 You see, it wouldn&#8217;t do his career any good at all.\u00a0 Plus &#8212; and here&#8217;s where we cue the music &#8212; these blogs really aren&#8217;t about the writers.\u00a0\u00a0 Blog writers are a dime a dozen.\u00a0 There are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogherald.com\/2008\/02\/11\/how-many-blogs-are-there-is-someone-still-counting\/\">100 to 200 millions blogs\u00a0worldwide<\/a>. \u00a0It&#8217;s the commenters who make the blog &#8212; you!\u00a0 You don&#8217;t want to vote for Dot Earth&#8217;s commenters, do you?\u00a0 &#8216;Nuff said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.treehugger.com\/best-of-green\/business-politics\/index.php\">Click here to vote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>[<em>NOTE:\u00a0 This was originally posted March 10th, 2010 at 8:08 pm.<\/em>]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to vote.
