But one recent hotel was a bit special: while perambulating to my room down an outside corridor, I spotted this on the floor:<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/badastronomy\/files\/2010\/03\/pareidolia_angelwings.jpg\" alt=\"pareidolia_angelwings\" title=\"pareidolia_angelwings\" width=\"610\" height=\"620\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13168\"\/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>As it happens, the town I am in &#8212; forgive me for not revealing the location! &#8212; is very religious, and in a way that shapes like this would easily be revered as some sort of icon of God&#8217;s presence. The resemblance to an angel is obvious. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/badastronomy\/files\/2010\/03\/paredolia_angellungs.jpg\" alt=\"paredolia_angellungs\" title=\"paredolia_angellungs\" width=\"225\" height=\"241\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13169\"\/>But of course, I happened to be walking back to my room from lunch. Had I instead been walking <strong>to<\/strong> lunch when I spotted it, I would&#8217;ve seen this view on the left.
