Mary Jo Penkala took this picture of a volcanic eruption as she flew over the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean six weeks ago. <\/div>\n
\u2018We were so lucky to see the volcano in all its glory,\u2019 said the hairdresser, 49.<\/div>\n
She was on a Boeing 737 from Toronto to St Lucia when the pilot alerted passengers to the eruption.<\/div>\n
Much of the island has been evacuated since the Soufriere Hills volcano began erupting in 1995.<\/div>\n
\u201cIt was certainly an interesting start to our vacation.\u201d<\/div>\n
Experts say the island is safe to travel to. <\/div>\n
