(Note that higher volume can come from APL taking share, total trade growth will be lower.) The charts below are from NOL&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nol.com.sg\/investor\/operational_update.html\">release.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4bb0ad9c7f8b9a3128150200-600-\/chart.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Chart\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, their average rate per forty-foot container (FEU) rose 8% year over year as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4bb0ad767f8b9a2528b90200\/chart.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Chart\" width=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Moreover, it&#8217;s reasonable to bet that the company believes the current global trade recovery has legs. They just set up a new company to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joc.com\/maritime\/nol-forms-company-finance-new-ships\">spend at least $150 million buying new ships<\/a>, last week CEO Ron Widdows said he&#8217;s willing to lease-in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fruitnet.com\/content.aspx?cid=6248&amp;rid=1\">up to ten ships<\/a> in order to meet near-term demand, and they plan to bring up to ten idled ships back into service.
