S&amp;P 500 Index futures gained 3 points in pre-opening trade. Futures are responding to a renewed focus on growth in China. The Shanghai Composite Index broke resistance at 3,102.39 to close at 3,124. Analysts are starting to take a more positive stance on China, its impact on commodity prices and on Chinese equities. This morning Dennis Gartman recommended the purchase of Chinese base Exchange Traded Funds.<\/p>\n<p>Equity index futures did not respond significantly to economic news released at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus for February Personal Income was a gain of 0.1% versus a gain of 0.1% in January. Actual was unchanged. Consensus for February Personal Spending was a gain of 0.3% versus a gain of 0.5% in January. Actual was a gain of 0.3%. <\/p>\n<p>Commodity prices roses significantly when the Shanghai Composite Index broke above resistance.
