The ending to that book suggests that maybe he&#8217;s not a sissy (not that there&#8217;s anything wrong with that), but merely aspires to be a father. Which is funny because I remember once when I was three or four years old saying, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up: &#8220;a daddy.&#8221; Everybody laughed and I learned next time to say, &#8220;a fireman,&#8221; which led to a terrifying visit to a fire station. I may never be a fireman, but in August I&#8217;ll be a father. I&#8217;ve been practicing with puppets and pets for decades and should be ready.
