<\/a>At his keynote address at the New York International Auto Show, Ford CEO Alan Mulally outlined his company\u2019s plan for delivery of green vehicles, but warned that the U.S. is falling behind in the race to develop new battery and powertrain systems.<\/p>\n

He placed an onus on world governments, saying that incentives will be needed to help consumers afford the emerging technologies and that the global playing field remains a level one. He said that although his company plans to roll out more hybrids and electric vehicles, there is much room for improvement with internal combustion engines.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that although Ford is developing hydrogen technology, a major commitment is needed by world’s governments to build the infrastructure necessary to support it.<\/p>\n
