The 2011 Mini Countryman made its U.S. appearance to here in New York and is ready to go on sale early next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Countryman is the most striking addition to our vehicle lineup so far,\u201d said Jim McDowell, Vice President, MINI USA. \u201cAnd development of this vehicle has inspired our engineers and designers; the brand is taking on a new, even feistier, fun-loving attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it comes to the North American market, the base 2011 Mini Countryman will be available with a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine making 120-hp and a maximum torque of 118 lb-ft. The Mini Cooper S Countryman model will be powered by a 1.6L twin-scroll turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 180-hp and 177 lb-ft (192 lb-ft with Overboost) of torque. The Cooper S will also be offered with Mini’s all-wheel-drive system called ALL4.<\/p>\n

All models will come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic will be available as an option.<\/p>\n

Pricing details will be announced closer to launch.<\/p>\n
