Two former American Idols<\/em> are set to share the stage once more.<\/p>\n Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, winner and runner-up, respectively, on Season 2 of the FOX talent show, are teaming up for a summer tour of North America that will featured both vocalists putting their signature sounds on some of the best songs of the past half century.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The 16-city tour, dubbed “Timeless,” kicks off July 23 in Asheville, NC. <\/p>\n “I couldn’t ask for a better tour mate,”<\/em> Aiken said of Ruben, the guy he sparred with for the Idol<\/em> crown in 2003. “To be able to share the stage with him again is so exciting. He inspires me daily and I think that respect and admiration will truly be reflected in our show.”<\/em><\/p>\n Ruben also sounds relieved to be hitting the road with an old pal. “It is truly a blessing and an honor to be on the stage with my friend,”<\/em> the “Velvet Teddy Bear” remarked in a press release issued Thursday. “The relationship that we have built over these past eight years will definitely translate into a great show for our fans. And, I’m really looking forward to singing the timeless classics every night.”<\/em><\/p>\n Ticket prices and an on-sale date have not yet been announced. We’ll keep you posted.
