The DC version of The Real World<\/em>, which debuted in December and wrapped up with a series finale and reunion special on Wednesday, was the least-watched edition of The Real World<\/em> in the series’ 23 season history.<\/p>\n

“Wednesday’s The Real World DC finale attracted about 1.1 million viewers — the smallest finale audience in the show’s 23-edition history. As if that’s not bad enough, the three least-watched episodes ever in “The Real World” history all came out of its Washington edition. Five of the six least watched “Real World” episodes ever — also Washington,” The Washington Post<\/a><\/em> wrote on Thursday.<\/p>\n

No surprises there. Apparently the rest of the world is catching on to what I’ve known since I was 12: Washington is one of the most boring cities in the United States of America, where nothing even remotely interesting will ever happen. Next!<\/p>\n

The show attracted big headlines during filming last summer: Washingtonians were left livid after shooting disrupted parking and pedestrain traffic in its posh DuPont Circle neighborhood, but failed to live up to the hype — particularly after the premiere of the runaway MTV reality hit Jersey Shore<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At least something good may come after the ratings trainwreck: The semi-mansion at 2000 S. Street where the castmates lived while shooting the program is reportedly being turned into a high-end restaurant.<\/p>\n

The upcoming 24th season of The Real World<\/em> — premiering next fall — will head back to New Orleans for the first time since 2000.<\/p>\n
