If you need to waste some time at work (not that we endorse that kind of thing), allow us to suggest the McLaren MP4-12C configurator<\/a>. The online tool lets you customize your own version of McLaren\u2019s upcoming supercar.<\/p>\n

Many of the tweaks have performance in mind. You can spec a lightweight exhaust, carbon fiber for the mirrors or spoilers, carbon-ceramic brakes, or lightweight forged wheels. Then there are the visual possibilities: 31 exterior paint colors and a choice of five different interior leathers. \u201cPractical\u201d accessories include a car cover or fire extinguisher.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cIRIS\u201d option adds a voice-activated navigation system with 80-GB hard drive that can connect to wireless networks,\u00a0 allowing you to copy music files from your computer. The \u201cDriver Zone\u201d interior option creates an asymmetrical cockpit look by changing the leather trim around the driver\u2019s seat separately from that of the passenger seat. You could have a red leather driver\u2019s seat and a black Alcantara passenger seat, if you want. Carbon-fiber interior bits are also offered.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re stuck and need inspiration, there\u2019s also a video of Formula 1 champs (and current McLaren F1 drivers) Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton using the configurator to design their ideal rides. Hamilton wants parking sensors (huh?) and lots of carbon fiber.<\/p>\n
