{"id":506019,"date":"2010-04-02T12:27:50","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T16:27:50","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c5fcf53ef01347f988659970c"},"modified":"2010-04-02T12:27:50","modified_gmt":"2010-04-02T16:27:50","slug":"search-warrant-service-results-in-recovery-of-property-and-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/506019","title":{"rendered":"Search Warrant Service Results in Recovery of Property and Arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-STYLE: italic\">Los Angeles<\/span>: Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Detectives, assisted by Commercial Crimes Division, Operations Valley Bureau Property Crimes Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have been conducting an ongoing burglary investigation throughout Los Angeles County over the past several months.\u00a0 North Hollywood Area detectives served five search warrants throughout Los Angeles County from Marina Del Rey to Winnetka in an effort to recover property taken over the last several months.\u00a0 The property was taken during burglaries and thefts linked to a ring of burglary suspects that operated mainly in the San Fernando Valley.\u00a0 During the service of the warrants numerous items of stolen and potentially stolen property were recovered and are being identified in an attempt to return them to their rightful owners and assist in the prosecution of identified suspects. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the criminal investigation, ICE agents were able to determine that two of the involved suspects had unlawfully entered the United States and were engaged in criminal activity.\u00a0 Those two suspects were detained by ICE and transported to the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center pending further investigation and deportation proceedings.\u00a0 Three other suspects were detained for possession of narcotics and receiving stolen property and are currently jailed at LAPD Valley Jail Section. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing burglary investigation is centered on 35-year-old twins Karisa Kay and Kristina Kay of Valley Village and 40-year-old Steven Miller, who is currently in custody at Los Angeles County Jail for burglary.\u00a0 The Kay twins have been identified and arrested on several occasions in the past year for investigation of burglary and receiving stolen property.\u00a0 They both have charges pending in Los Angeles County Superior Court regarding their criminal activity. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call LAPD\u2019s North Hollywood Area Burglary Detectives Barrientos or Torres at (818) 623-4081.\u00a0 During non-business hours or on weekends calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.\u00a0 Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).\u00a0 Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.
