{"id":506946,"date":"2010-04-02T14:41:32","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T18:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c630a53ef0133ec693da1970b"},"modified":"2010-04-02T14:41:32","modified_gmt":"2010-04-02T18:41:32","slug":"possible-sightings-of-missing-san-diego-county-family-in-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/506946","title":{"rendered":"Possible sightings of missing San Diego County family in Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ktla.com\/media\/photo\/2010-02\/52473265.jpg\" style=\"width: 612px; height: 344px;\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>The FBI has joined the case of a <a href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2010\/03\/missing-family-may-have-planned-to-vanish-into-mexico-police-say.html\">San Diego County family of four that vanished<\/a> from their suburban home earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>San Diego County Sheriff&#8217;s Department<br \/>\nofficials said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5sandiego.com\/news\/kswb-mcstay-computer,0,4288578.story\">they<br \/>\n examined the family&#8217;s home computers<\/a> and found evidence that they<br \/>\nhad been looking into information about child passports to Mexico<br \/>\nshortly before they vanished. On Thursday, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcstayfamily.com\/potential-sightings\">relatives of the family<\/a> said on their website that there have been several potential sighting of the family in Mexico. The relatives said the FBI is checking out those reports.<\/p>\n<p>The family&#8217;s car was found at the U.S.-Mexico border, and a videotape<br \/>\n shows four people who might be the family crossing into Mexico. Family<br \/>\nmembers have been skeptical that the family is in Mexico and remain<br \/>\nworried about foul play.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>No one has seen or heard from the family &#8212; Joseph McStay, his wife,<br \/>\nSummer, and their<br \/>\ntwo children, Gianni, 4, and Joseph, 3 &#8212; since February.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Family and<br \/>\nfriends describe Joseph McStay, a 40-year-old businessman, and his<br \/>\n43-year-old wife as devoted parents excited by their recent move from<br \/>\nSan Clemente to a home they bought on a cul-de-sac in Fallbrook.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\t<a id=\"more\" name=\"more\" type=\"button_count\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Authorities<br \/>\nsay they are stumped by the disappearance of a family that had no<br \/>\napparent financial or marital problems and no known enemies or<br \/>\nconnections to drugs or crime.<\/p>\n<p>On Feb. 14, McStay&#8217;s brother went to the family&#8217;s home to check on<br \/>\nthem<br \/>\nafter Joseph&#8217;s partner in a water fountain business said he couldn&#8217;t<br \/>\nreach him.
