The Finnish vehicle is a contender for the X-Prize award. The four-wheel-drive electric sportscar is now beaded to the U.S. for this month\u2019s \u201cshakedown stage\u201d of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.progressiveautoxprize.org\/teams\/raceabout-association\">Progressive Automotive X-Prize<\/a> competition.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.instablogsimages.com\/images\/2010\/04\/03\/electric-raceabout-2_SGztm_5638.jpg\" alt=\"electric raceabout 2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The ERA features direct-drive motors that provide power to each wheel.
