{"id":512856,"date":"2010-04-04T09:42:19","date_gmt":"2010-04-04T13:42:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com\/?p=15682"},"modified":"2010-04-04T09:42:19","modified_gmt":"2010-04-04T13:42:19","slug":"vatican-we-don%e2%80%99t-care-about-%e2%80%9cpetty-gossip%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/512856","title":{"rendered":"Vatican: We Don\u2019t Care About \u201cPetty Gossip\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A top Vatican cardinal denounced what he called \u201cpetty gossip\u201d surrounding Pope Benedict and accusations that the pontiff mishandled church sex abuse cases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoly Father, the people of God are on your side, and do not allow themselves to be influenced by the petty gossip of the moment, by the trials which sometime shake the community of believers,\u201d Cardinal Angelo Sodano said at the start of the Easter Mass in St. Peter\u2019s Square.<\/p>\n<p>Sodano is a top-ranking cardinal and the former Secretary of State under both Benedict and John Paul II.
